How to Find the Right Car for Your Lifestyle

One thing that most people do at least once in their lives is purchase a new car. There are a lot of factors you need to consider when doing so, including your lifestyle needs. Today we will look at different types of cars and what lifestyles they suit best.

Sedan

Picture a car that can carry your kids’ school bags, shopping bags or even golf clubs. Sedans generally come with a spacious boot, which allows for exactly this. Plus, with 4 doors it’s easy for front and rear seat passengers to get in and out with ease. This makes the sedan our top choice for a city family car!

Hatchback

In the past, hatchbacks had less boot space than sedans. We’re happy to report that this is no longer the case. Hatchbacks tend to be smaller and easier to manoeuver, making them perfect for younger drivers. Hatchbacks would suit any lifestyle needing an everyday car to drive in the city. If you’re keen to go bushwhacking, we wouldn’t recommend this type of car.

SUV

Another great choice for a family car! SUVs have heaps of space for the whole family. If you’re looking for a fuel-efficient city car, we wouldn’t recommend getting this, no matter how cool they are. If you’re going to be doing off-road driving (with or without a family), we wholeheartedly recommend getting behind the wheel of an SUV! Can’t decide between an SUV and a hatchback? No worries! Micro-SUVs are popping up on roads across the world. These vehicles offer you the best of both worlds, whether you’re doing city driving or bushwhacking.

Bakkie

As with SUVs, bakkies are a great choice if you’re looking to do some off-road driving. You are spoilt for choice, however, with this type of vehicle. Double cabs are great for families, single cabs are good for people not planning on having a lot of passengers. Then you have a choice between 4×4 and 4×2, as well as diesel and petrol models, etc. No matter which derivative you choose, bakkies are made for people hauling cargo – whatever that may be.

Convertible or coupe

Don’t have family to drive around or any cargo to haul? Not planning on doing any off-roading, ever? Great! Then a coupe or convertible is for you! Fast, fun and sporty, these cars are for the young at heart looking for a thrilling great driving experience. While these are just a few broad categories including a nearly infinite variety, it gives you a good overview of the options available to you. There are, of course, many other factors to consider when choosing the right car, such as finances, fuel efficiency, power, etc. Before buying any car, do your research to see what’s out there and ticks your boxes.   If you would like some advice on servicing costs before you go ahead and purchase a vehicle, feel free to contact us!
